Life of a Teacher

Taking over the role of the teacher in classroom was a great experience as I had the opportunity to take over the teachers role in the classroom. Being able to accomplish the activities a teacher would do on a normal gave me this sense of responsibility when I was able to complete my Life of a teacher.

Completing the 3 days of my Life of a teacher was easy as being the main focal point of the classroom and having that presence in the classroom allowed the lessons to go smoothly and all the admin that had to be completed such as the attendance register having to marked, moneys' for the different schools projects having to be collected as well as the tuck shop money was easy and simple as the school already had a structure in place to deal with such circumstances.

In block 1, takin over teachers responsibilities was simpler and less as they were writing exams resulting in periods being very short and there were not many projects happening that time compared to block 2, where the school had a few school projects such as cami-competition to see which grade can collect the most money.

The activity I found most challenging was having to move classes throughout the day which was very tiring as a teacher as the classes were not right next to each other.

I think I have rated myself accordingly in my beginner teacher competencies as I learnt that there are certain aspects where I am stronger and certain where I am average which needs improvement but I realised as time goes and my development in the classroom grows, so will the aspects which I have found being average. My exit level outcomes have lived up to expectation but development is needed in order to succeed.

Being able to complete the life of a teacher, It allowed for much development as I got to manage the classroom in a way I felt fit my teaching style.
