What I liked about Online Microteaching?
Microteaching allows the teacher to make use of various online tools that will be difficult to use in a classroom. It allows the teacher to be direct instead of having to explain many different aspects of a topic to the learners.
What I dislike about Online Microteaching?
I disliked the fact that we cannot experience what learners are doing when engaged in a microteaching lesson. You cannot provide learners with physical objects to give them a feel of what they need to be looking at.
What new skills I obtained through this experience?
I learnt how to make use of an online collaboration tool that can allow for the sharing of content as well as being able to access different online tools to help promote learning.
What would I do differently?
I would make use of video to allow for a more interactive session where they could have answered questions based on the video to reinforce the lesson.
Did I choose appropriate tools to teach the online lesson?
I believe I chose the appropriate tools for the lesson which allowed for clear presentation of the content that was to be presented. Why I think so is, I managed to use the online tool to engage them in the content as it had the different components that contribute to the topic.
How has this experience developed you for teaching in a school?
It will allow me to be better prepared when in face to face sessions and make use of the online tools that can help promote and reinforce learning. I feel like I can use this experience to come up with new strategies to teach the same content.
I agree that teaching this microteaching lesson has helped me develop my online collaboration skills. I have learned how to use this tool and apply it to teaching in the real setting. I am now able to navigate an online collaboration tool. This has improved my ability to use the smartboards at the school which I'm currently at.

I fully agree with you saying that online teaching allows for the teacher to use new online tools for the lesson. It also allows learner engagement. I also agree that when it is an online lesson the teacher is not able to fully engage with the learners and give them tools to use in class. For example, your lesson could have been a great F2F lesson too as learners could have built a circuit too , however your online too was very informative for learners. I like the idea that you’re able to learn from this and come up with new strategies for learning.
